This week I had a wonderful group of ladies that came through for a private workshop. It’s such an honour and a privilege to be able to work with ladies that are genuinely focused and motivated on ensuring that their relationships are happy and successful. One of the ladies mentioned that she always asked her husband what where his highs and lows of being involved with her today, and visa versa.
It got me thinking – how many of us set targets and goals and go through performance appraisals in the work environment, yet forget to do the same in our relationships. A relationship is the biggest financial and emotional investment you will ever make – look after your most treasured asset by constantly evaluating your relationship.

Seeking outside help - by Dr Deborah Bernhardt, Psychologist
Men are generally reluctant to get help if they believe there is a problem in their relationship/marriage, whereas women feel more comfortable to seek other’s advice.
The reason for this usually lies in the inherent differences between men and women. Men are more achievement orientated, and thrive on fixing things and finding solutions to problems themselves. Admitting they can’t fix something and asking for help makes them feel incompetent and damages their male egos. Additionally, men tend to become more reclusive and quiet taking time to ponder problems. Women on the other hand feel comfortable listening, talking, sharing feelings, asking for help, and exchanging ideas.
Women thus need to accept that should they suggest seeking outside help to address problems in their relationships and this is declined by their partners, that this should not be perceived as a personal insult but rather as a manifestation of male ego. Instead, women should try coaxing men into the process by admitting that they ‘need’ their man to help them. Men love to be ‘needed’ and they will probably agree.

Tattoos - by DR M
Tattoos can be removed either surgically or with laser. Amateur tattoos are usually less deep than professional tattoos and are thus easier to remove. Tattoos of one colour, especially black, can be pretty effectively removed with laser.
Small tattoos can usually be removed surgically in one stage. Larger tattoos may need to be removed a bit at a time, with a period of about four months between operations. Large back hipster tattoos can be very difficult and costly to remove – think twice before having one!

The new National Credit Act (NCA) has made the buying public face reality when it comes to their debt. Long overdue in my opinion, as our wonderful credit lending companies have been dishing out credit as you would candy at a child’s party without any ramifications.
The banks will have to play it very safely from now on as they will not be allowed to repossess goods if they are seen to be reckless in having granted the credit in the first place.
The effect on the car market has seen car sales slowing down as well as buyers down grading to lower priced vehicles. The used car market is also feeling the squeeze.

There are some things that we do just because it’s a tradition.
And there some things that we hold on to because of beliefs.
However it’s what works for you that matters.
When I am coaching I often ask
What is something you can let go of?
What is something that is a must for you?
I love being at home on a Friday night with my family and with our closest friends.
I love spending time with my kids.
I love reading inspirational books.
Some of these are traditions (especially Friday nights)
My belief is, if I spend time with my kids sharing and guiding them it will help them on their journey.

What beliefs are important to you?
Remember some of our beliefs do not serve us well
How many of you remember your parents telling you not to talk to strangers?
Well, that's not going to help you if you are in the selling business!!

A surprising FAQ comes from women who never get past first date because… the men yak too much! Why do some men hog the conversation and not seem interested in finding out more about their date? One reason can be that men hate the threat of a deathly silence. If it looks as if the conversation has dried up he leaps in with the subject he knows best—himself! Most women politely sit and listen, and so he does not suspect they are bored to death. The woman should find a moment to break the flow of conversation (order more coffee, go to the powder room) and then show the man she has something to say. Another reason is that many men welcome someone kind and caring and (alas) interpret ‘Tell me about yourself …’ the wrong way.
Advice: from the start, make sure the conversation is equally shared. Of course, you may just be in the company of a blabbermouth egomaniac. If so, cut it short and go home.
